Fun at the cabin!

Here is Edie at 22 weeks old.  Super cute!

This weekend we got to go up to the cabin!  It was so much fun.  We packed the tahoe up and drove up Friday afternoon.  Whit's work was getting new furniture so they had to leave the office early that day, so it worked out perfectly for us.  We got up there and got things opened up, and then were joined by some of our friends.

Can't you tell how much fun this little guy is having?

Saturday morning Whit woke up early and made everyone a delicious breakfast.  Then they all went hiking.
I've never seen it so green up at the cabin!  I love what a lot of rain will do for a place.

Here's the crew up at the lake.

And here they all are again.  Notice I'm not there :(  I have had a sinus infection all week and really wan't up for a hike.  Besides, little Miss Edie was taking a nap when they left and we don't wake her up :)

But when she did wake up, she was one happy camper!

For a second.  She doesn't stay happy for long these days.

Can you tell she's trying to push herself out of the bumbo?

Somebody get me out of here!

She was pretty much fussy the whole time we were there, but everyone was so nice and took turns bouncing her on the yoga ball.  Josh even bounced her while drinking his root beer float, now that takes coordination :)  We did have a good time, it was really nice for me to get out of the house.  I wish we could do it more often!

The hiking pictures were on Whit's phone, and when I downloaded them I found these gems.  I just had to share!  This is Winston on St Patrick's Day :)

And this was almost a year ago, and our friend Holly and Brett's wedding.

And this one cracks me up like nothing else!  I mean really--what baby has a receding hairline like that?  I'm so glad he eventually got more hair!

Happy 4th of July!

For the 4th of July, we went down to Spanish Fork for my parent's annual neighborhood breakfast.  We ate at mum and dad's and had a great feast and had fun chatting with all their neighbors.  Then we went down to the park to launch the hot air balloons!

Their bishop is an engineer and built these stacks and we've been launching hot air balloons on the 4th of July after the breakfast.  It's a way fun tradition :)

It's fun to watch them and see how high they fly.

Winston didn't really get it though, he had more fun pushing the stroller around,

 and hanging out with grandma!

Edie was all smiles after her nap on the walk to the park.  She is so happy when she wakes up.  If only it lasted...

and here we all are.  My brother Tyler and his family drove out from Wisconsin.  They spent the week at my parents and tomorrow they embark on the fun trip to Hong Kong with the rest of my family!  My brother McKay is getting married there so everyone is going to join in the celebration.  Congrats to McKay and Loida, we are so excited to have her become an official part of our family :)

20 Weeks

This is what Winston is up to these days, pushing over furniture and making messes.  He is such a boy!

And Edie had two days where she slept through the night and took great naps during the day.  I thought we had turned a corner and was getting so excited for happier days.  And then it stopped.  She started waking up every 4 hours at night again and she is pretty grumpy during the day.  So we're back to bouncing on the yoga ball and not getting anything done.  Oh well.  Those 2 days were great!

19 weeks

And she's started grabbing her toes.  It's so cute.  She's gotten really close to rolling over, but still hasn't done that yet.  But she's getting so much stronger and fatter :)

One morning I took her in to wake up Winston.  I just put her in bed with him and they hung out like that for a few minutes.  I think they are starting to be friends.

Isn't he cute?  I just love seeing him grow up!

Some things never change though, he still isn't very careful with Edie.

But I think she's starting to be a little more interesting to him, he's definitely paying more attention to her these days.  He'll even wave good morning to her, it's really cute.

This is Winston's universal sign for "pick me up," "get me out of my chair," and "I want you to hold me."

You can't tell from the picture very well, but he has about 20 fruit snacks in his mouth.  He loves shoving everything into his mouth that he can.  And he just keeps it there.  He's so weird!

He got to jump on the tramp with his cousins and they all had a great time :)

 Edie in her Sunday finest.

Once again I accidentally dressed them in matching clothes!

They are so cute together!!!

Happy Father's Day!

Monday we had some of our dear friends from our old ward come over.  We had a bbq in the back yard and they took this family picture of us.  My mom said she wanted a current family picture of us for her birthday, and so here it is.  It's hard to get the kids to look at the camera at the same time, but 3 out of 4 people looking isn't too bad I guess!

Winston has become a great pacifier thief!  It's so funny to see him walking around with them in his mouth, especially since he never liked them before.

Edie taking one of her cat naps.  She doesn't really sleep for longer than 20 minutes during the day, but she's so cute when she does sleep!

For Father's Day we went down to my parent's house.  It was their stake conference so we went to hear my dad speak too.  He did a great job, as always :)  We also got to hear Elder Vincent, one of the 70s, and Elder Cook!  It was a great conference.

Then Whit made a delicious 4 course meal for my mom for her 60th birthday, that just happened to be that same day!

First we had this yummy green apple and fennel salad.  We also had shrimp with cocktail sauce, but I ate that so fast I forgot to take a picture!

Then we had this yummy gaspaucho, I have no idea how to spell it but it's a cold soup made from tomatoes and cucumbers.

The main course was pork chops, green beans, carrots, and potatoes.  All so yummy!  I wish I could eat it all again :)  Whit is such a great cook and he worked so hard to make everything.  Thanks Whit!!!

Then we looked at slides of our family.  I had lots of baby pictures with me and my mom--many that I don't remember seeing before.  It made me think I needed to take a picture with me and Edie.  I'm usually the one taking the pictures so I don't have a lot with her :)  I should also mention that she had her 4 month checkup this week.  She weighs 15 lbs 12 oz and is 25" long.  She is in the 95% for weight, 85% for height, and 75% for head circumference.  She is growing like a weed and getting bigger every day.  It was good to talk with her doctor and to find out that everything is healthy and as it should be.  She has been crying so much lately that I was beginning to worry that something was wrong.  The doctor said she is just a healthy girl and she isn't afraid of letting us know if she's uncomfortable.  She definitely likes to be heard!

And here we all are before we headed home for the night!  It was a great weekend and it was really nice to spend the day with my family.  I feel bad that I didn't do anything nice for Whit for Father's Day.  I did get him a new shirt and tie, but I feel like that doesn't really express my gratitude to him very well.  Hopefully by next Father's Day I will have a bit more energy and time to do something really sensational.  Because I really do appreciate and love him so much!!!

17 Weeks

Another week has come and gone and we didn't do anything super exciting.  But we have been having fun and enjoying summer!  Every morning I take the kids for a walk, and then usually in the evening we go outside to play while we wait for Whit to get home from work.

Here is Winston, walking around the front yard.  It's nice to live in such a beautiful, green place!  Whit's parents have a beautiful yard and we are enjoying it :)

Last Sunday was our Stake Conference at the Bountiful Regional Center.  We got there early enough to get some seats on the back row.  It was really convenient since we only made it through the sustaining of church officers before we had to take turns going out in the hall with different kids.  By the end of the meeting, all 4 of us were out in the hall.  We were trying to keep the kids from crying and trying to listen to whatever we could hear.  I'm sure it was a great meeting but we really didn't hear very much of it.  Oh well!  I know there are plenty more church meetings in our future and someday our kids will be well behaved enough that we'll actually be able to listen to what is being said.  Right???

I've been putting Edie in the bumbo since she likes to see what is going on.  The problem is, she doesn't sit still in it very well.  She always twists around in it and ends up like this, gnawing on the side of it.  Such a funny girl!

We keep trying to get the kids to be nice to each other.  I'm trying to teach Winston how to give Edie a hug, he just tilts his head her way and that's it.  But he's starting to grab at her hands too.  I think she's getting more interesting to him.

One attempt at a picture of them together.

And another attempt.  Maybe someday we'll get them together smiling :)

Whit took a nap after church and Winston wanted to play.  This is their compromise.

She's starting to like looking at mobiles and lights.  Yay!

Winston has been really good lately and loves playing in his little playroom.  He will be in there reading, playing with toys, and watching Bob.  He sure does love watching Bob!

And our cute little girl smiling.  She loves to smile and that makes me so happy!
