the quite ordinary week but super fun weekend

I don't take many pictures when we don't have a lot going on.  But I did think it was cute to document bath time.  These two have a great time in their together and so far we've avoided any major incidents.

There are tons and tons and tons of leaves here!  One day after our walk I let Winston walk around on the trampoline that was just covered with leaves.  He thought it was super fun.  Grandma didn't think it was fun mowing up all of the leaves though.  I think she said they bagged upwards of 60 big garbage bags of leaves, and that was two weeks ago.  They've mowed a few times since then so I'm sure there are more.  :)

And the week ended with Kira coming up to watch the kids so Whit and I could go finalize all of our finishes for the house!  Kira watched the kids while we did that, and when we came home she said she could keep watching them if we wanted to go on a date!  So we went to see the movie Thor.  Fun times :)  Thanks Kira!  That was a real treat.  Saturday we dragged her with us to go look at furniture.  We're not buying anything yet, just looking, but Whit decided we definitely need to have one of these massage chairs!  He and Kira loved testing them out.  But at $2500 for the cheap chair, I think we'll get a new couch and a few other things first!  It sure would be nice though :)

Our House!

We drove by our house on Monday, and this is what we saw!  We were so excited!!!  Who knew a hole could be so cool?

There were two boys playing on the huge pile of dirt, they were having a great time.  It was fun to see.

Here you can see our neighbor's house across the street.  We're doing the same color scheme and our house will pretty much look like theirs, except we only have a 2 car garage and we'll have a window above the garage.  We hope they don't hate us for picking the same colors, but we like grey!  :)

Winston was so excited to see "Bob!"

And this is the fun sight that I get to see in the mornings :)  She has learned how to pull herself up and is standing all the time now.

And sometimes she eats her crib.

This didn't capture her whole smile, but she smiles so big when I go in to get her.  It's one of my most favorite parts of the day.

Saturday my mom and dad drove all the way up to babysit for us!  I think they earn the parents of the year award for that one!  We went on a nice walk together, along my favorite route on the Lagoon trail.  Then Whit and I got dressed up and went out to dinner and then the evening session of Stake Conference.  It was soooo lovely to be in a church meeting and not have to wrestle the kids!  We could actually pay attention to the speakers and it was a really nice meeting.  Thank you thank you mum and dad!

And this is what our house looked like at the end of the week!  They have poured the basement and we are getting even more excited.  It's going to be a long 6 months, waiting for it to get finished.  We are getting so very excited to have a home of our very own.  With a yard :)

Happy Halloween!

I have started taking the kids on walks again.  I stopped for awhile because I liked to utilize the time that Edie was asleep.  So I've been doing exercise videos while she naps.  I can do that and a shower while she sleeps, and sometimes I even get to do something else if she's sleeping long enough.  But now, they are painting the theater room and the fumes are really bad so I try to take the kids out as much as possible!  Besides, it's fun pushing a stroller with your arm in a sling!  I'm using new muscle groups in my good arm :)

And we discovered that Target has shopping carts made for multiple kids!  Yay!

On Halloween we went to the Holley's house to see all of the cousins dress up.  They are so cute don't you think?!

When we got home I tried to get a picture of the kids together.  Edie was happy to cooperate,

Winston was another story.  He didn't want to sit down, he didn't want to wear his hat, he didn't want to get his picture taken.

Well we showed him!  I love this shot more than words can say!  It captures the essence of whiny Winston perfectly!  I'm so glad he's not like this all the time!!!

Just when we make him wear a hat or do things he doesn't want to do.  And Edie is just excited to have something new to play with :)

Kira came over after her work, she is so sweet to come all the way up and help out with the kids!  We had a great time together and I got a lot done while she was playing with the kids.  Thank you Kira!!!

Saturday we gave Winston a haircut, he could have been an old man for Halloween with this hair!

Edie loves bath time, most of the time :)

And Winston is learning how to pour water out of the cup.  He was dumping it on his own head.  It's fun to see him learn new things. Although I'm not sure if it's a good thing he's learning--to dump things out of cups?

Edie is learning how to crawl and it's so fun to see her try to get around.  She's got some funny moves!

And sometimes she gets tired and just takes a little break. :)

It was a fun week!

Fun random week

Here's Edie last Sunday.  She loves to clap all of the time and we love seeing her clap.  What a cutie!

And Winston in his new recliner.  We're all about Bob here, "Reduce Reuse Recycle" is resonating with Winston, he's repurposed Edie's swing to be his new chair.  Awesome.

Edie doesn't mind, she loves her new high chair.  She never sits still in it for long and loves to rest her leg on the tray.  Whatever keeps her happy :)

Friday night we dressed up the kids and took them to the Community Center down the street from us.  They had some sort of carnival for the kids going on.  So we got our little Asian Kids ready!

They pay great attention to their Dad when he tells them to look at him,

but they don't really get it when I tell them to smile!

But Winston's got some great faces going on!

He was a little scared at the carnival, I think he's still a little young to get what's going on.  Everyone thought he was really cute though :)

Saturday morning the kids helped Whit change the oil in the car.

Then we went out for lunch--Edie was obviously starving!

We let Winston feed himself so we could eat.  I thought noodles would be less messy than rice but I think I was wrong!

Then we went for a lovely afternoon hike in the hills by our house.  It was a beautiful fall day and we loved being outside!

We borrowed a friend's backpack so we could each pack a kid.  They loved it!

This doesn't really capture it, but it's a view of the valley with tons of fall colors.  Utah lake in the distance.  So pretty!

and after a week of my elbow really hurting from my bike crash last week, I went in to have it checked out.  It's broken, so they gave me a sling and told me that it would start to feel better in a couple of weeks.  Yay!

And Sunday evening we went up to Brigham to go to the viewing of my dear friend's father.  It was good to see her and her family and a good reminder of how important families are.  I'm so grateful for my little family, I love them so much!!!

Family Pictures!

But first I just have to show what Winston does during nap time.  I don't know if you can tell, but all the clothes have been taken out of his drawer, and then shoved back in.  And of course all of the books have been taken off the bookshelf.  I'm just impressed he tried to put his clothes back :)

He's still the pacifier thief!  I left Edie's pacifier on the counter for a second and when I came to check on Winston, this is what I found.  He's sneaky!

But oh so cute!  We went to Thanksgiving Point to get our family pictures taken and I was soooo happy to get some fall leaves!  Fall is my favorite!

Whit's face is my favorite in this one!  Ha ha!!!

I was pretty happy with how they turned out, I really like the fall colors!  We enjoyed looking at all the trees and deciding which ones we want to plant in our new yard.

And of course no week would be complete without a shout out to Bob the Builder!  We went on a bike ride on Saturday to enjoy the beautiful weather.  I was a little clumsy and fell over on my bike pretty hard.  I was still clipped in and got off balance and didn't brace my fall very well.  I tweaked my elbow pretty bad.  So Whit booked it home to get the car to come back and get us.  While we waited at the fairgrounds, Winston started running towards "Bob."  I tried to get him to turn around and wave to the camera, but this is all I got, a half hearted wave while he was checking things out.  I was just impressed I could take a picture while holding Edie and suffering from my injuries!  :)
