Happy Pioneer Day

To celebrate Pioneer Day, we went to Handcart Days in Bountiful!  Whit's mom was there and had bought tickets for all of the grandkids to go on rides.

So Winston's cousin Anna Belle rode with him on the swings.  He was a little apprehensive about it, but at least he didn't scream and cry the whole time like the girl behind him :)

And Edie had fun hanging out with cousins and playing dress up!  It was a really fun day being with family, and then we went out to lunch.  I love it when Whit gets a day off in the middle of the week.  Hooray for holidays!  And a shout out to the Pioneers, it was nice to have a day to remember them and appreciate all that they did in settling the state and following their faith.  I'm grateful for their example!

The rest of the week we just hung around the house.

Winston loves to climb in the bumbo now.  I think his legs are skinnier now than when he was younger, because he can get in and out of the bumbo pretty easily.  When he was younger, like Edie, we had to pull his chubby little legs out.  Edie is the same.  Such chubby babies we have!

Thursday we had an awesome visit from some of my college roomates and their kids.  It was soooo much fun to see them and catch up.  We had some pretty silly times together at Ricks and it's fun to talk about what we are all doing now.  I can't believe that it's been so long since we were in school together, seems like just yesterday.  Time flies!

One day Whit and Winston were twinners :)

And on Sunday we went down to my parent's place to hear all about their trip to Hong Kong and Japan.  They had a great time at McKay's wedding and then had fun touring around.  They got this cute little outfit for Winston and were so excited that it fits!  I'm so excited because it's going to be the best Halloween costume ever :)  All he needs is a pair of flip flops with some white socks and we'll be good to go!

23 weeks and counting

Happy Summer!  One of Winston's cousins had a birthday party at the house last week.  Winston had fun playing with the sprinkler, but didn't really get into the water balloon toss or other games.  But he sure had fun watching all the other kids run around.  He loves to watch people!

And Edie loves to suck her toe!  Some kids suck on their fingers, she likes her toes for some reason.

She really does this all the time!

And this is her version of taco baby.  We try to let her sit up on her own, and she just slowly sinks down until she's folded in half,

 just like a taco.

And Winston gets to wrestle with dad and we just leave Edie folded in half in the background.  She wasn't crying or else I would have picked her up.  I promise!

She is getting stronger though, she has really started to like being in the bouncer.  It's great because she can see what's going on, and I don't have to hold her all the time!  She gets heavy!

Winston really loves these crackers and he'll eat as many as I give him.  So I have learned to only give him one or two at a time, otherwise his mouth gets even fuller than this!  He's such a chipmunk when he eats.

But he's finally starting to catch on to how fun his new tricycle is.  At first he just liked to push it around or push it over.  Then one night Whit put him on it again and Winston loved it.  His feet still can't quite reach the pedals, but they can rest on the footrest it has.

You probably can't tell, but he's waving.  He loves to wave and he'll wave as Whit wheels him past me.  It's so fun to watch.

And then by the end of the ride he got brave and stood up.  He was so proud of himself.  What a fun kid!

And isn't she the cutest?  We just love her to pieces :)

Fun at the cabin!

Here is Edie at 22 weeks old.  Super cute!

This weekend we got to go up to the cabin!  It was so much fun.  We packed the tahoe up and drove up Friday afternoon.  Whit's work was getting new furniture so they had to leave the office early that day, so it worked out perfectly for us.  We got up there and got things opened up, and then were joined by some of our friends.

Can't you tell how much fun this little guy is having?

Saturday morning Whit woke up early and made everyone a delicious breakfast.  Then they all went hiking.
I've never seen it so green up at the cabin!  I love what a lot of rain will do for a place.

Here's the crew up at the lake.

And here they all are again.  Notice I'm not there :(  I have had a sinus infection all week and really wan't up for a hike.  Besides, little Miss Edie was taking a nap when they left and we don't wake her up :)

But when she did wake up, she was one happy camper!

For a second.  She doesn't stay happy for long these days.

Can you tell she's trying to push herself out of the bumbo?

Somebody get me out of here!

She was pretty much fussy the whole time we were there, but everyone was so nice and took turns bouncing her on the yoga ball.  Josh even bounced her while drinking his root beer float, now that takes coordination :)  We did have a good time, it was really nice for me to get out of the house.  I wish we could do it more often!

The hiking pictures were on Whit's phone, and when I downloaded them I found these gems.  I just had to share!  This is Winston on St Patrick's Day :)

And this was almost a year ago, and our friend Holly and Brett's wedding.

And this one cracks me up like nothing else!  I mean really--what baby has a receding hairline like that?  I'm so glad he eventually got more hair!

Happy 4th of July!

For the 4th of July, we went down to Spanish Fork for my parent's annual neighborhood breakfast.  We ate at mum and dad's and had a great feast and had fun chatting with all their neighbors.  Then we went down to the park to launch the hot air balloons!

Their bishop is an engineer and built these stacks and we've been launching hot air balloons on the 4th of July after the breakfast.  It's a way fun tradition :)

It's fun to watch them and see how high they fly.

Winston didn't really get it though, he had more fun pushing the stroller around,

 and hanging out with grandma!

Edie was all smiles after her nap on the walk to the park.  She is so happy when she wakes up.  If only it lasted...

and here we all are.  My brother Tyler and his family drove out from Wisconsin.  They spent the week at my parents and tomorrow they embark on the fun trip to Hong Kong with the rest of my family!  My brother McKay is getting married there so everyone is going to join in the celebration.  Congrats to McKay and Loida, we are so excited to have her become an official part of our family :)

20 Weeks

This is what Winston is up to these days, pushing over furniture and making messes.  He is such a boy!

And Edie had two days where she slept through the night and took great naps during the day.  I thought we had turned a corner and was getting so excited for happier days.  And then it stopped.  She started waking up every 4 hours at night again and she is pretty grumpy during the day.  So we're back to bouncing on the yoga ball and not getting anything done.  Oh well.  Those 2 days were great!
